I started the Savvy Doula blog last summer to provide birth professionals with free tips to grow their businesses. As we start 2009, I would really appreciate your feedback to make this blog and the services I offer better for you. Please feel free to do one or both surveys. My goal is offer more value and additional opportunities to connect with me as well as other birth professionals. Your answers are anonymous.

One of my favorite marketing experts is Karin Witzig. She specializes in helping health and wellness professionals with marketing. This makes her work very relevant to birth professionals. Her blog has a lot of great information that can easily be implemented into your own marketing efforts. I recently learned a lot by reading her chapter-by-chapter review on the book "Eveolution: 8 Truths About Marketing To Women" by Faith Popcorn. Visit Karin’s blog today and sign up for her newsletter too, where you’ll receive tips and opportunities to participate in her Mastermind Group, teleclasses, and workshops.

The Big Rocks
Stephen Covey’s "Big Rocks" story is pretty famous. He does an exercise in his presentations where he fills a clear container with big rocks, and then pours in pebbles and sand, which fills up all the spaces. When he tries to do the same thing with those same three materials but starts first with the sand and pebbles, the big rocks cannot fit.

I have been fortunate to have a few experienced doulas whom I consider mentors be there for me as I’ve navigated through different births, and I have been blessed to have participated in several coaching groups over the years. Knowing the power of both kinds of support, I’ve created the Savvy Doula Community Wisdom Circle.
