I have been fortunate to have a few experienced doulas whom I consider mentors be there for me as I’ve navigated through different births, and I have been blessed to have participated in several coaching groups over the years. Knowing the power of both kinds of support, I’ve created the Savvy Doula Community Wisdom Circle.

Every day in December, I’ll share a quick tip to help you get organized for the new year! It will include an action item to get you and your business moving. If your business is brand new or has been stagnant, or even if you’ve done really well this year, we’ll work on a variety of areas to identify goals, tidy up your work space (physical as well as on your computer), get your financial house in order and beef up your marketing plan. Dear Savvy Doula,

 

I am gearing up to start some online community building for birth professionals, and last week I was inspired. I hope that the resources and tips that I’ve shared so far has been of help to many of you, and I also hope that you will help me spread the word to your colleagues that Savvy Doula is here. I feel the need to expand the breadth of knowledge of running a small birth business, and the only way I see this happening is through combined brainpower.

I have not been a fan of social networking sites. Up until now I’ve only been on LinkedIn. A colleague encouraged me to try Facebook, citing that it’s helped her and her business, so I thought I’d take the plunge.
